Lisbeth rolled her eyes at the jab concerning her intelligence and the carefully worded threat from Oriana. She raised a hand and displayed the vulcan hand sign. "I come in peace." The redhead mocked a rather overused and stale Star Trek quote. She lowered her hand. "There is no need to insult my intelligence just 'cause I don't use big fancy words or have degrees. I know my stuff. You'll see soon enough." Lisbeth replied, sobering quickly and getting serious. "I just found out I have some sort of phobia about elevators. Besides, Its good to laugh. Therapeutic. Thats my theory, so grow a sense of humor, will ya?" She replied, speaking her mind and showing her irritation. She tossed her head back to get her long pigtails behind her for effect.
"You have my daggers. The only other weapon I have is my box weapon and my traveling companion." She stated laying all her cards on the table. She figured if they wanted her dead, they could have done her in inside the elevator or when the doors opened. Liz fished out her box weapon and tossed it at Oriana's feet. "I expect my property to be returned. My pet stays with me. He is my friend and I'll not give him up. And besides... he eats mice" She stated with a tone of finality. The girl behind the Verde's peek did not go unnoticed by the Koenig, but it was quick, and Lisbeth was forced to focus on the mouse, since it was more important to identify potential threats. If that rodent was a box weapon, then Liz would definitely not give up her own. "As for what I have to offer..." Her final possession, the thumb drive with the files from Koenig's databanks, as well as her own research and data, was last to be tossed. This time, not at Oriana's feet, but at her person. It was an underhanded and slow high arch of a throw. Liz was confident the Verde would catch it. "Its all there" Her eyes left the Verde's to glance at the other person that wanted so desperately to be invisible.
"And how long is your sister?.. going to hide behind you." Liz asked sarcastically, still not getting a good enough view of the girl to know who she was. "I don't bite, I promise." She said, her eyes again shifting to the figure behind Oriana. The fact that the Verde girl mentioned the illusive girl was her lab assistant registered a split second later, causing Liz to suck in her breath in a half gasp as she put the facts together. 'Innocenti?' she breathed the thought, the question just barely making it to audible status. Eyes locked on what she could see of the figure still hidden. Lisbeth knew all about how the girl was wanted. Not that it was any concern of hers, but the girl was tiny, child-like, like herself. She'd seen Michelina's picture in her file, but she just thought it was a childhood photo that had not been updated recently. What little she could see of the hidden girl, now came into focus in Liz's mind and matched the photo.
It was disconcerting to be in the reverse roll of a person looking upon another. It was like looking at herself from the outside. 'Is this how people perceive me?' she couldn't help but ponder. Liz knew she was short for her age, and looked younger than she was. But she had no idea at the scope of it. Liz blushed and averted her eyes. She'd been angry at the way she'd been treated by people since leaving the Koenig compound in Germany. Now she finally understood. Her eyes turned to look at Oriana, and something was immediately different. Just moments ago, she saw herself Oriana's equal. Liz did not even realize the height difference. Now she was VERY aware that she was looking up at the Verde, and the Verde was in turn looking down on her. For a moment, Lisbeth felt very much the child she was perceived to be. She lost her focus and looked lost, but only for a few seconds. Her eyes hardened as she regained herself. 'I'll not be looked down upon, damn it!' She thought to herself. 'I'm better than both of you, and I'll prove it!' She resolved. Lizbeth's arms came up to cross at her chest. This was not how she envisioned this meeting of the minds would go. As far as Liz was concerned, she was done with her concessions.
