PERSONALITY
It would be hard to believe that Kaya was attending Anger Management classes a year ago. In fact, it would be extremely hard to believe she was a foul-mouthed and headstrong boss of Notte. She has changed greatly since her time spent training with Remo and Arashi, growing into a woman with a calm and tactical personality. She isn't stupid enough to underestimate someone based on personality as she believes every person has great potential inside of them. She isn't willing to back down in the face of defeat, believing there is always a way to overcome any obstacle even when the odds are stacked against her. This leads to her being viewed as an unusually optimistic person in the face of absolute failure or an equally bad situation.
As Neo Vongola Terzo, Kaya is very caring for those who work for her and often does things in their best interest. An example of this is when she asked Ryuunosuke to quit his job or leave Vongola so he wouldn't overwork himself. She ending up giving him a million dollars in yen so he could continue school and work as a Guardian. Kaya has learned how to be observant during her training with several strong mafioso, allowing her to notice when things are wrong with those close to her or small details that give someones true intentions away. She uses this skill to see what she can do to make the lives of her guardians more easy.
Kaya doesn't let things go easily and she is capable of holding a grudge for eternity. She has developed a vengeful personality and grows ruthless when it comes to dealing with her opposition. For a single death, she will make the killer pay tenfold. Kaya can be a very bossy person towards those around her. This often comes in the form of being forceful when solving problems or making very clear demands. She will make sure her orders are heard and everyone is clear on them. She is a selfless person in a very bad way, trying to carry the entire world on her shoulders. She constantly blames herself for anything that goes wrong within her famiglia, becoming withdrawn and secretive when someone close to her dies from Mafia-related reasons.

Kaya has received training from many of Mafia world's most powerful members. She has been tutored under Remo, grandson of Reborn, and under Varia Boss Arashi, grandson of Xanxus. After gaining Yamamoto Ryuunosuke as a Rain Guardian, she received many lessons in pressure point fighting due to his personal hatred for his former boss. She then received lessons in seeing through basic illusions after impressing Rokudo Kagerou during a test to see if Kaya was worthy of becoming her boss. After awakening from her comatose state, a member of Spiaggia named Sheeka Riva helped her practice her aim with her newly acquired handgun. Hibari Noboru also taught Kaya the basics of Wing Chun a week or so after her awakening, refusing to believe Ryuunosuke was a better teacher than him. With all of this training Kaya has gained a special set of skills allowing her to be a great boss and has potential to gain more power.
Ryuunosuke has also taught Kaya basic first aid and other medical practices, allowing her to fight as well as being an amateur medic in combat.
During the Sky Ring Battle, Kaya was capable of performing five punches per second. Kaya has lost this immense speed due to her year of sleeping. Kaya is capable of gaining this again after a few weeks of practice with a powerful Mafioso.
Kaya's appearance has drastically changed since entering a comatose state and she has difficulty getting used to her new appearance. This has also led people who have known her for a long time to not recognize her if they didn't visit her constantly while she was hospitalized.
In the aftermath of the Ring Battles, Annullare attacked Vongola directly and killed Kaya's adoptive mother in the process. She originally blamed Arashi as she couldn't mentally handle the situation due to mental and physical exhaustion. She hospitalized Arashi after beating him to a bloody pulp, only to put herself to sleep for an entire year. She desperately wants to avenge Cesarina and her resolve is fueled by this urge.
Kaya shouldn't have been physically capable of beating Arashi to a bloody pulp, as stated by Ryuunosuke, as she had used HDWM three times in a row. This means her body was feeling as if it were breaking three times greater than it would have felt if she used it once. It is unknown how she survived this, but it is theorized she was fueled by the loss of her only mother figure.
As far as Kaya knows, she is an only child. Kaya is a bastard child of one of Tsunayoshi's sons and her original surname is Tanaka. She is unaware that her surname was changed or of her actual status within the Sawada bloodline. The original candidate for Neo Vongola Terzo is still alive and very close to Kaya.

Because of its unique harmony attributes the Sky flame can commune with all the other flames easily. It more readily accepts the change of will-power to direct strength. Bearers of the Sky-attribute are said to be exceptionally rare and most of the known ones share the common trait of possessing great insight. This ability comes from the fact that Sky Flames share a bit of all the flames within the spectrum, giving them the harmonious balance of all aspects.
HYPER DYING WILL MODE
During her training with the tutor Remo and Varia Boss Arashi, Kaya gained the ability to access Hyper Dying Will Mode. To use HDWM properly, Kaya trained with Remo and Arashi to surpass the five minute limit of the Dying Will Mode needed to fully use Hyper Dying Will Mode. This form allows Kaya to access a much calmer and stamina-based version of Dying Will Mode, meaning she can fight without the drawbacks of Dying Will Mode. Entering this form causes her pupils to become a darker color and her irises to become a lighter version of the original color, as well as causing her Sky Flame to emit from her forehead. Because of her relation to Tsunayoshi, this form also unlocks her Vongola Hyper Intuition, effectively giving her the ability to see through all. Her intuition in this form isn't perfect, and is capable of being tricked. Entering this form also has the drawbacks of making her body feel as if it were breaking, causing immense pain and the feeling of death after she goes out of HDWM.

She carries her Dying Will Pills with her at all times, allowing her to enter Hyper Dying Will Mode if she ingests two pills. Ingesting just one pill will allow her to enter Dying Will Mode, although she will never do this as HDWM provides a much better fighting experience.
Box Weapon:
X-GLOVES
The original X-gloves were given to Kaya by Tsunayoshi upon becoming Neo Vongola Terzo. They appear as wool mittens emblazoned with the number twenty-seven and are extremely durable despite their appearance. Upon entering Hyper Dying Will mode they become black, metal-clad gloves. They give Kaya enhanced strength while in HDWM, which is further enhanced by using the Soft Sky Flames emitting from her forehead. This means any strike made with the flame-covered gloves is the equivalent of burning metal. While using the flame-covered gloves, Kaya also gains the ability of flight at high speeds with great maneuverability. The gloves are capable of being upgraded, although this requires a near-death experience to trigger the Vongola Trial of Succession. (Upgrade has to be bought as if it were a new box weapon.)
Shares the same cooldown as HDWM.
Box Animal:
SKY WHITE BENGAL TIGER
An animal as rare as those who use the Sky Flames, the White Bengal Tiger. Once this animal is released from his box, soft Sky Flames are emitted from his paws and his eyes fade from blue to orange to symbolize the Dying Will flame he belongs to. The white tiger is a very clever animal and quite observant like his owner, though he is fairly lazy most of the time and tends to lay down when he's called out, unless his owner is desperate. Kaya has named this mighty King of the Jungle, Giotto.
ABILITY I, GIOTTO'S ROAR, Giotto lets out a ferocious roar, causing the harmonize trait of his flame to harmonize with nearby box animals in a radius of ten feet. The harmonized roar causes a temporary stun on the box animals for a short amount of time, appearing in the form of sudden fear. Though, this ability affects all box animals nearby, even her allies, thus she often doesn't let Giotto use this ability in an area filled with other box animals. The ability is also fairly predictable, making it easy for enemies to get outside the radius. This ability also doesn't work well on aerial enemies.
