• Temperamental: She likes getting her way. She can become aggravated rather quickly when questioned or contradicted.
• Childish: Lisbeth was robbed of her childhood by her grandfathers ambitions of having her continue his life's work after her father, Koenig's son, passed away. MISCELLANEOUS
For as long as Lisbeth can remember, The only family she has known are her mother, her grandfather, and her twin brother. Her aunts and uncles, if any, are a forbidden subject. Her Dad is a vague memory of a tall man with a one-of-a-kind smile that she could never forget, for it would light up the room. She can no longer recall exactly what he looked like. Only the smile. She was just three years old when he died saving her and her brother from a fiery death. All the family photos went up in the fire that destroyed her home. Nothing remained of him but memories which faded with time. Granddad was no help in that regard either. When he decided to disappear from the grid and go underground to save his work from technology thieves, he left all his personal effects behind. Photos and memories were not important. Only his money and his research went with him. How that man could be that fixated with his life's work was still a mystery to the young teen. All Granddad would do when asked about Dad is point out that she has his eyes and his hair. He was a full blooded German like Grandfather.
Yukina, her mother, is Japanese. How the two met? Another mystery. Mom refuses to talk about anything concerning Daddy, and all Liz could remember is his gentle voice calling to her. "Yuki-nee" he called her. Or at least that is what he calls out in her dreams. Why all the secrecy?. No one will confide in her. Its all Granddad's doing. He had her sworn to secrecy, and we all know the Japanese and their unbreakable vows.
Mother lives in Okinawa Japan with Liz's twin brother, Leon. She lives a simple life. Grandfather pays for her Mom's quarterly visits to Germany and since her visits are rare, Liz does not waste their precious time together prying about the past. All correspondence is forbidden. Granddad Koenig does not allow mail, whether its electronic or land. Phone calls are also a problem. Conversations are kept to a minute tops so they can't be traced. What a paranoid bastard, but "C'est la vie" as they say.
And finally there is Leon, her brother. Even though she sees him only a few times a year, it has never ceased to amaze her how their bond as twins transcends time and distance. Its as if they are never apart. Lisbeth and Leon simply pick up where they left off and within the hour they are both up to speed on each others lives. There are no secrets between them. She knows his heart and mind, and he knows hers. He also comes bearing gifts. Leon is her lifeline to her infatuation with the Japanese manga and anime culture. Granddad refuses to buy them for her and Mom is poor, but Leon uses his own money from his odd jobs delivering papers and running errands to buy her a suitcase full of the latest manga and anime tittles. She will watch or read anything, but her genre is samurai or anything having to do with blade weapons really.
Life has not been easy for Liz. She was chosen by her Grandfather, Koenig to replace her father as the person who he would pass his knowledge down to. Unlike her father, she would not have the opportunity to grow up normally and attend public school. Koenig was getting old and could not afford to wait. If something happened to him, his life's work would die with him, for he would never put make record of anything on electronic media or paper. At the age of 5, he had Liz and Leon undergo a battery of tests. Liz far outdid her brother, and while it bothered her Grandfather that the male heir to the family name was not proving adequate, he simply had no choice.
Lisbeth proved to be an excellent vessel for to soak up and store the vast knowledge Grandfather would teach. She had a near photographic memory, and unlike her unwilling and rebellious Brother who preferred to play and would not sit still, she was calm and eager to please her Grandfather. Her days were spent in Koenig's lab. He did not believe in classrooms and text books. He has a hands-on training minded person. Over the years that followed she would learn all about science, chemistry, and the exclusive protoscience used to construct rings, boxes, and the weapons that filled Koenig's coffers with mountains of cash from the Mafia famiglias who purchased his creations.
Unfortunately she would also learn the poisons of his mind. The paranoia of spies and assassins looking to take his work and eliminate him. He seldom left his lab. Liz, however, needed an out. She was but a child. She needed a way to escape. Her frustrations started to interfere with her studies and she started to become difficult to teach. She would become angry and moody. He feared she would loose interest.
Koenig caught this before irreparable damage was done and took action swiftly. He could not let Lisbeth leave his residence. She was too valuable to loose to abduction, assassination, or a freak accident, or so she was reminded each time she asked to be let out. She found herself asking more and more often until finally she one day told him she was done and did not want to learn any more. Grandfather was besides himself. He told her he just did not have the time to start over with someone else. He had everything vested in her. His hopes, his dreams, his life's work. So he looked towards her hobby. As much as he hated the idea of allowing her to study anything other than her German heritage and culture, he saw the necessity. Her fascination with swords led him to compromise in insisting he wanted her to be a schwertkampfer (swords woman), just like her favored characters in her manga and anime.
She knew he was lying. Granddad would not allow her to leave, so she insisted he hire the most skilled fechtlehrer (fencing instructor) he could find to teach her. She would choose from the candidates, and only one met her criteria. The Japanese man was master in several different styles of Kendo. And so she began her formal training. Lisbeth was ecstatic, even as she started to recent Koenig for his iron grip on her. However, it was exactly what she needed. It was her "out" The way she could vent her frustrations and indulge what would become her passion.
Her cloud flames were discovered almost by accident, and with their discovery, her training intensified. Granddad was not surprised with this. It was as if he already knew and was just waiting for the flames to surface. Her attribute became readily apparent. She was able to duplicate items. Lisbeth was also found to be ambidextrous. Her left and right hands are no different from one another. She can use both equally efficiently. This was extremely useful when she is wielding her preferred weapons of twin daggers. This made her deadly since most defenses rely on watching what a person does with their dominant hand. Useless against a person who does not have a dominance. With her daily sessions a permanent part of her schedule, she now fulfilled her end of the bargain and devoted herself to her studies.
Lisbeth always knew something else was missing in her life as she hit her teen years. Grandfather became frail with age, and eventually there was nothing more he could teach her. In fact, Lisbeth had surpassed him by age 16. She mastered protoscience and found herself working by herself mostly, going over Koenig's work and applying her Alchemy to modify and improve old weapons and sell the upgrades to the mafia families who had the earlier models. But even that became inadequate. There was just nothing more to be done. Koenig's ideas had run their course. New material and points of view were needed.
One day, just after her 17th birthday, Grandfather had fallen asleep at his personal computer terminal. Liz took this opportunity to spy on him. He'd not logged off of any of his personal files and databases. There was so much she could have pried into, but there was a single file that attracted her interest immediately. It was named "Verde and Innocenti" and within was information on his two former colleagues. They were alive! Not dead as he had told her. And they had children and grandchildren of their own. It was all there. Names, addresses, phone numbers. Current status of each. Page after page of data. How Koenig was able to obtain this and keep track of his former associates, she did not know.
Lisbeth made up her mind. She would seek them out. She shook her grandfather awake and an argument erupted. Lisbeth, however, would not back down. Koenig was too frail to impose his will on her and caved to her relentless demands, for her logic was sound. She was right and he knew it. However, he put fear in her with his tales of the outside world beyond his lab. Of societies evils and how once she was back on the grid, she would become a target. He begged her to wait one more year. Koenig promised would allow her to leave with his blessing if she would do this one last thing for him. He said he had something that would protect her, but she needed time to learn how to use his gift.
Lisbeth found out it was his intention all along to allow her to leave. He'd made for her a ring, which he gave her. He also built for her a box for a weapon. The weapon, however was still being designed. Liz took possession of both and fashioned her own weapon. It was a sword made of an alloy she invented. With her Sensei's help and a new flame attribute which the box provided for the weapon, she quickly mastered it's use and knew she was ready to set out a year later.
She would find out, however, what an injustice she was dealt by being confined to Koenig's manor. She is socially inept. She just did not know how to get along with others for she rarely had contact with anyone outside her family. She did not know how to temper her words. She was blunt and to the point in speaking. Except for her brother, she was always in the presence of adults. She'd matured before her time and had no idea how to get along with others her own age. This was a problem, especially in Japan, where her search took her. She'd decided not to seek out the original founders. They would be elderly like her grandfather. She decided on trying her luck with people her own age. There were two girls. One from each of the other two founders. Granddaughters, just like her. And according to her data, also protoscientists.
But first..... She would surprise mom and Leon.
BOX INFORMATION
Alias: Witch Blade
Affiliation: NONE
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Flame Attribute & Abilities:
Cloud Flame
Lisbeth's flame attribute is duplication.
She uses this ability to increase the length of her primary weapons which are her set of foot long daggers which she keeps concealed upon her person at all times. The single edge dagger blades are fashioned after her box weapon in that the blade is segmented into nine inch long segments held into a solid single form by a cable under high tension that runs through the segments into the hilt. She uses her flame to double the segments, in effect, doubling the length of her daggers into 18 inch swords. She can double the segments for both daggers for 5 posts before a 2 post cool down, or triple their length for 2 posts before the cool down. Any further multiplication would continues to reduce the time she can sustain it by half. with a doubling of the cool down period. 4x, for 1 posts with 4 posts cool down.
Box Weapon:
Peitsche Schwert or Frusta Spada, depending on whether you are German or Italian. Both translate to Whip Sword. Lisbeth invented the Titanium alloy used in forging the sword using her alchemy talents. The "sword" is initially the length of a short sword at 24 inches of length and has a double edged solid blade that has obvious segments and a hooked tip. The blade is made of an alloy combining, among many, the light weight, corrosion resistance, and extreme temperature resistance of Titanium with the hardness of Tungsten carbide and high melting point and lustrous qualities of Osmium. The segments are held together by high tension rope wire cable which is very flexible and embedded into metal and hilt. Her cloud flame allows for multiplying the number of segments to a maximum of 48 inches of solid blade.
The blade has its own attribute using the cloud flame which engulfs it, of elongating and shortening the length of the cable that hold the segments together, thus separating the segments which remain attached to each other with flexible cable to act like a blade whip. This increases the range to 10 feet for a ranged attack. The sword can be extended and retracted like a bungee to snap back to solid several times before needing to be reformed into a solid blade with a cool down of 5 post.
With all its advantages, the combination of metals have a crucial flaw. It is a virtual super conductor and thus weak against electrical attacks. Lisbeth would be vulnerable to electric shock and any current flowing through the weapon instantly magnetizes it for as long as the current flows with 1 to 2 posts of residual magnetism. The weapon cannot be used in its "whip" form while magnetized.
Box Animal:
Who the owl
A great horned owl that obeys only Lisbeth is her box animal. She communicates with him using hand gestures and whistled notes. The owl's wings are covered in cloud flame that give it an almost flaming phoenix look while in flight. The flames however have nothing to do with fire that generates heat being more akin purple faerie fire.
Utter Flutter.
By flapping his wings quickly while stationary or in flight, The Owl's impressive cloud flame coated 6 foot wingspan multiplies the air currents into winds what swirl into a cyclonic motion not unlike a tornado of sorts. Its uses vary. From encircling and concealing Lisbeth in the center of such tornado of up to 10 ft radius, leaving her unaffected at its center, to picking up larger debris that would shield her from incoming projectiles by deflecting them.
The tornado could be used offensively by the owl taking flight and unleashing its creation in the direction of an enemy. The tornado would be concentrated narrow with no center. The enemy would be blinded by the flying dirt and dust, while larger debris would batter and potentially hit the enemy with larger pieces of such debris. At the least, the person would be distracted trying to defend itself from flying object allowing for Lisbeth to flee or strike with her primary weapons. The cyclonic winds can encompass an area a maximum of 20 foot diameter while the center which has no wind could be as large a 8ft diameter. Maximum wall of wind thickness would then be 20 ft thick if at both maximums. The owl must always be at its center with Lisbeth for it to be calm there.
Wind generation could be three one post bursts with a 2 post cool down after the third, or one one tornado 2-3 posts sustained. Cool down 3 - 4 posts.

• A set of foot long daggers of her own construction and design.
