HIDDEN BULLET: REVISED?

I feel as if the plot for Hidden Bullet has become stagnant and lacking muse all around. Even though we have wonderful writers here and interesting characters, I feel as if the events happening around them are uninteresting and they deserve something more exciting and fresh. Since I won't force all of you to reboot suddenly, I'm asking you for permission and your honest opinion on what we could do to make HB more interesting for our role players.

I'm not asking any of you to drop your plots completely, or drop entire characters. In fact, you can keep your character, their position, and their plots. So please don't feel as if you are REQUIRED to start from scratch. or your character will be meaningless. you're not. It's ultimately up to you. If you feel as if the site is good as it is, then you're free to vote no and we'll listen to your opinion on the matter. So, now that you know the basic problem, I'll ask some questions.

1. Do you have any suggestions that can make interaction between families more interesting? Plots more engaging?

2. How do you feel about a currency system? We had Volts, but we haven't really updated it to what we want yet, which would be free upgrades based upon certain factors. Do you feel Volts should stick around? Should the Volts earned per post be increased if it should stick around?

3. I want to personally do a Ring Battle plot, but I also want to make other families equally as important as the major three. Do you feel as if Ring Battles can be done fairly, or do you feel we should do something else when it comes to the Vongola family? One of the ideas Cres said would be having the Guardian positions already selected, but having the Sky Boss be ultimately decided by a fight. So, would you prefer a plot based around Ring Battles, if so how do you think the winner should be decided and what should happen to the losers? If you have any suggestion for the focus of the plot, please reply with it. c:

4. If you chose yes, how do you think the reboot should be handled? Should you be allowed to post on this, while we worked on the reboot somewhere else? If you have any suggestions, please say so below.

Hi, well I don't know much bout what's going around (tbh lel) but it sounds like you guys want different plots and plots are dying out and you want a "reboot" of the site. But a reboot could be defined as changing a lot of things and other than the currency system it sounds more like you just want to add plots (unless you haven't added more info you held back). Why don't you just start up events and plots instead? o.o But if you are planning on changing more, I rather know what's going on to input anything (though my inputs may be shit).

To clarify

By "Reboot", we mean to take the plot a year earlier and ignore the entire Annullare events that occurred. The Annullare still exist, by the way. We could try and do that now by moving the plot forward without resetting, but it would be awkward. Extremely awkward and messy. No one has to lose plots, or their character positions, they would just have to ignore the events that took place during and after the Ring Battles.

Well, currently from what I've seen it seems as though this sounds like a good option. I mean, we can give this a try in my opinion. I have no objections at the moment, but if I can think of plots I'll surely PM or post once more in here.

To me, it seems like after the ring battle NOTHING HAPPENS. Kaya is unconscious, and like all the other guardians are moving on with there normal lives. Even though Annullare IS on the move, nothing still has happened. Like I'm pretty sure the Vongola Guardians haven't been together for like the past year. So for me, it's either:


1- Do what Flute said, make an event, advance the plot. Make the Anullare show themselves and start a trigger for future events. That way we can all get involved. Or...

2- The reboot. Start from the ring battles and we can have some fun. But I kinda feel like we might get back into the situation we have right now, all of is doing nothing.

The reboot sounds fine to me- though I'm not sure if it was intended but it sounds as though you mean actually going a year into the past which would throw off most character ages, but if you mean just taking out a past event and leaving the timeline, I think that would be fine.

Considering it generally stirs up controversy and tension socially (which means interesting plots to work with as writers), a shift in technology could be interesting as a plot device as well. They've had box animals and weapons from around seventy years now but considering the original makes developed box weapons in such a short time frame (yes there was some Byakuran intervention but still), it wouldn't be outrageous to believe that expansion of flame science has increased (or is even somewhere public knowledge, perhaps). If that were the case, more than just box creations could come into play, and that would put more pressure on those without flames considering they'd be left in the technical Stone Age without them. The only question would be what advances would the site be willing to make, etc.

Honestly I think the Volt system could work if the number of posts per volt increased, but honestly it doesn't give much leeway in the way of older characters. Everyone starts out with around three skills (regular attribute, box weapon, box animal, generally), but considering there is a meshwork of ages and such in play, it doesn't seem like an accurate display of the power levels. While yes I understand that it's meant to keep people from being initially OP, I feel like there still should be some leeway with certain character ages.

But if you wanna linneate plots, you could have the heads of whatever famiglias do a more up-to-date info page and give some kinda plot guidance (like how all the Shimon's are getting on board as civvies who have their flames awakened, like that then plan out how they all meet Alaric in the thread and sort out mini-groupings), or have like one big family plot page rather than individual ones and then while you have a path from the boss all the members get their own arcs going at the same time with that context (as in, Rai might have Spiaggia's goal be bum around and have fun while clashing with the annullare when they turn up, in that plot Sheeks' goal is to spy on the Annullare and Tsukommi for Rai's idiocy, Hisashi's would be assassinate Rai + clash with Sheeka) it's basically working out the fam's dynamics through that thread and then interactions between families are based on personal interactions (or how they stand, like Vongola peeps might like someone from Fake Shimon on a personal level but they were kinda bad guys and the famiglia are clashing so it informs the interaction)

o.o I dunno. But if you want to reboot the plot then just say reboot and start at a later point, don't like make a new board n jazz, that sounds like it might be over-doing

My input is, if you are going to do a reboot, ring battle or whatever is fun and all but I want all factions conflict. Like remember the last arc ? I don't know if i can fully explain this since it is spoilers for the anime watching people but all factions fought each other. I want something like that.

As one of the newbie members, I am at a loss of an opinion on whether to reboot. I just have the one character, and she is a granddaughter of a cannon. If the reboot happens, I don't want to loose her and not have a Char to RP at all. But how do you go backwards and justify her existence? I don't understand how you do one, but keep the other.

I can't answer any of the questions you asked because I'm so new to the Reborn anime and manga that I am barely half way trough the story. Episode 94. So I will refrain from voting. I guess you can consider me abstained due to limited knowledge of the subject matter.

My personal opinion? If a reboot is to happen, do it right. Cant just keep rebooting. There has to be a way to also have a parallel universe thread or something where we can keep current plots going. Like I said, I only have the one char. I am not looking forward to rush a new character so I can RP in the new timeline. However, I understand that if this "test" timeline has gone stale, then it should be fixed.

I do have one suggestion though. Make it a rule outright that for for every Male Character, you have to create a female or "other" character. Not one for one strictly. But if you make two males,then the next two have to not be. Keep the scales of gender somewhat even from the beginning so that new members are not hampered by bans.

The currency system? I'm not nuts about the volts, (pun? dunno. sounds more like I made a spoof about the hunger games movie. lol) but it is a new concept for me and I am willing to give it a try.

Widget, I think I can clarify a few points for you about the reboot and your worries.

- You won't lose any of your characters. We'd allow you to edit as needed, in fact. You can keep her as is if you wanted to. You can keep her the exact same with little edits concerning her own timeline. For example, rather than make Spiaggia's newest members - such as Hisashi and Ryker redo their recruitment. The thread they were recruited in? We'll most likely just say that it was in current times after the reboot. My Spiagggia's Mist Guardian, who was one of the first members of the Spiaggia, is just going to show up with them a bit earlier in his life to compensate, if only to keep some of his relationships as they are. Nothing has to change. I am making changes to my characters' ages, but that's because I'm choosing to do so.
We know it's not fair to make people redo things they've already done. As for plots, because we'd technically be only a year back, many of them will have to be reworked to fit the current timeline or it'd just be a small setback in time of implementing them.
In essence, your character is perfectly safe and may only require minor edits, like age if you did want to set her age back a year, and maybe a few historical things. Plots will either have to be reworked or only set back a short amount of time, or depending on what the plot entailed, you still may be able to implement.

- We are reworking the plot, just a little bit to fix some of the errors within the first one. If anybody has any new plot ideas, for like subplots, then do bring it up with one of the staff members. We'll give credit where it is due. I am always open to working with new plot ideas to add. Subplots, for me, at least, exist to add more to the site as well as give others chances to play important characters.

- That suggestion is a brilliant suggestion and the staff do like the idea, so that may be a thing in the near future. I understand that our ban on male characters is a little bit of a turn off for those who don't play females. The ban will most likely be lifted soon because of the ratio as it is currently.

- As for the currency system, either we are going to alter it to make it more small-community friendly with the number of volts it gives out. Or scrap it entirely and see what we can come up to replace it, or not replace it and see how it goes from there.
