You're enclosed and in love, Your little white dove, She flutters and mutter your name >> TAGGED It had been an entire week since the terrorist attacks led by Annullare, causing the line between both worlds, one in light and one in darkness, to blur. People wanted answers. Sawada Kaya leaned back in her office chair as she viewed several screens in front of her desk. Each displaying amateur recordings of the events that took place that night, mostly highlighting the fight between her and Eiji's Mosca. Their movements were too fast for any editing program to distinguish who they were, but the fighting was clearly there. It was like watching a firefly attack a bee, their movements full of grace and beauty even when the intent to kill overwhelmed them both.
The displays would then show one of the Skyscrapers come crashing down and an impressive display of strength, albeit short, as the "Firefly" would attempt to shoulder the entire building and fail. Kaya felt a bit honored that the media deemed her 'Firefly', it made her feel on par with Clark Kent when he earned his heroic name. Some people weren't as grateful as the rest. She had become both a wanted criminal and a vigilante overnight. Perhaps she should order a costume and make enemies with an editor of a newspaper. She smirked and stood up, motioning two guards to tow the displays away. The door shut loudly behind them and Kaya sat back down, letting out a sigh of relief.
The base had become filled with new employees over night. Guards and scientists were a common sight in the halls of the underground base, and with them came You-Are-Here Maps spread throughout the various floors. It wasn't all that bad though she felt it had become too crowded. She was now able to create new technology and weapons, as well as monitor how things went in Namimori. If another threat marched into Namimori, Kaya would now be the first to know. A phone rang on her desk, causing Kaya to jump out of her chair.
"I, I told them not to make it too loud," she said in an embarrassed tone. She then picked up the phone and tried her best to sound serious, "Yes?"
"Sawada-sama, the heads of Varia and CEDEF are here for the scheduled meeting. Shall I let them through the door?" Said someone unfamiliar to her, probably the guard monitoring the main entrance.
"Y-yeah. Go ahead."
And with that she hung up the phone. She spun in her chair to face the wall behind her, several pictures covering the wall, mainly of her grandfather's friends and family. She hadn't seen anyone familiar to her in an entire week. She had spent the time healing and training, since she was able to train for longer periods due to having hired great doctors with strong Sun Flames. She still wasn't on par with her simulation of choice, Hibari Kyouya, and that was clear due to the overabundant number of bruises that covered her from her latest training session. She wondered if Arashi or Reiko would chew her out for training. Her doctors had already chewed her out enough. They wondered how she was even capable of training after usage of HDWM. She was an oddity to them and even herself--sometimes she wondered how far she could take herself.
She continued to stare up at the wall and the pictures of those that came before her. Sawada Tsunayoshi, Vongola Ninth, Vongola First. Several big name Mafioso were scattered across the wall, their eyes all staring at Kaya, making her feel as if they all collectively judged her actions. With such powerful men and women acting as her judges, she made sure that she wouldn't disappoint them. Soon, there was a knock at the door.
"Come in."

| | I HOWL... FOR THE TERROR THAT WILL SOON BEGIN... | | | He was only a little bit annoyed. Just a little bit. It wasn't like he'd been left out of a great fight. Nope. Since nobody else had thought to run media interference - he thought he'd seen Sheeka shifting through crowds of people at one point from the security camera he'd hacked into from a building from the Varia's computer lab. He had to laugh at Sheeka's tactics of removing civilian phones though, which involved running full force to them, making them drop their phones and many cellphones of the day were fragile, so they'd hit the hard cement and break. He would then have started to tear up and bolt before they could even do anything. He'd have to keep little snippet, especially since at the time he'd been dressed rather fashionably in a lolita dress.
Of course, no matter how many media stations or cellphones that had been messed up, there had still be some leaks of the fight into the internet and Arashi had spent the last week trying to take them down. It was too late, though. Those who saw the fight on the internet, or had been there personally were starting to talk. At least, identities were protected. There wasn't much even he could do if that were the case, besides maybe change Kaya's identity and have her disguise herself. That girl...was just a bloody magnet for trouble.
He hadn't been at all surprised when she had called a meeting the week following this huge incident. It did, however, bring up the problem of what he was going to do with Altair and how he was going to reintroduce him to the Vongola. The Shimon and the Vongola weren't exactly on friendly terms at the moment. Meh. He'd just drag him with him to the meeting. See how well that worked out. Worse came to worse...Reiko and Kaya would be angry with him for hiding things from them again. But really, he was the Varia's captain. What made them think an assassin would reveal any of his secrets? Especially when they were going to be helpful in the future? If Arashi was anything, he was thorough in his planning. Besides, the less people who knew about Altair, the better.
Altair had been brought to Namimori a while ago and Arashi was keeping him housed within the Varia headquarters itself. The Annullare had no knowledge of its exact location and Arashi made sure his Varia members kept their mouths shut. They'd rather be tortured at the hands of the enemy than feel the wrath of their captain. It was pleasing to know how much loyalty - fear - the grandson of Xanxus instilled into his members. While they feared him to an extent, knowing that the wrath of Arashi was something not to be trifled with, they respected him to the point of loyalty. When you were the boss of anything, there has to be a balance between the respect, fear, and love your subjects should have for their boss.
Arashi made the decision to avoid as many of Kaya's Vongola's guards as possible, especially concerning the fact that he had somebody who's existence at the moment needed to stay safe. Later, he decided, he'd tested out the extent of Kaya's security. It'd be fun. Anyway, he'd parked his sports car towards Namimori Shrine, making the decision to go through the Foundation's entrance. After spending about five minutes nearly being bitten to death by old man Hibari for doing so, Hibari had, reluctantly, relented to allowing the omnivore and his herbivore guest to pass through before settling down for a cup of tea and wondering who the blond was with the Varia captain. Not like he cared, though. He'd be bitten to death all the same if they came back that way.
And so, having gone through the Foundation's entrance, he had managed to avoid the brunt of Kaya's security force and the ones he had deliberately run into announced his presence to their boss. A soft chuckle left his maw as he thought about warning Altair that guessing the sizes of the Vongola and CEDEF bosses' was not wise. No matter. Knocking on the office door and being admit, Arashi casually entered with his loyal box animal at his side carrying a box of cupcakes from Kaoru's bakery. Kuro made his way over to Kaya and put the box on the desk in front of her, eying the bruising on her before heading back to his master and laying at his feet lazily.
Taking a seat across from Kaya. "I'll explain my guest to you in a bit, for now, just tolerate his presence," Arashi stated casually, leaning forward and resting his arms on Kaya's desk. "Kaya-chan, you shouldn't exert yourself so much," he drawled idly, but he really couldn't say much about it since after he had gotten out of the hospital and gotten all the Vongola merger business dealt with, he had gone full out on training himself. "Although, I suppose it is a good thing that Ryuunosuke is a doctor, yes? His rain flames and knowledge of the human body means he gives wonderful massages."

In a sense, it was almost like she had the day off. That feeling didn't really go far though. She may have been getting free time off but that was only as an idol. Her manager was a member of her very own CEDEF so they were able to schedule her around those important things she had to attend to as the boss. That included the meeting that had been ordered by the Neo Vongola Terzo. It didn't matter that she was supposed to be but a outside adviser if the Vongola boss ordered a meeting then she would come running. The Vongola and CEDEF were like twins if one were to go away then the other wouldn't function very well and if the other asked for help you responded. Or at least that's how she liked to think of it especially when their relationship had been explained so well by her old boss.
Even if there were ill feelings between the two boss', it was expected that the two would put their differences aside and work together no matter what. Well, it wasn't really like the young Vongola boss knew of the ill feelings that were once harbored within her chest. Those were almost completely cleared up at this point due to a chat she had with her father, however one sided it might have been, and Remo. It had been a tough thing to except but the time she spent by herself and with her younger sister after finding out what she had helped her through it. The Vongola boss was also one of her younger sister's and even if it was because her father had betrayed her mother; it didn't mean that she should disgrace the girl. She was just like the pair of them completely alone in the world because she had lost her mother and her father.
The fight that Kaya had with the mosca was probably what really made her come to the final conclusion that she had. She would respect what Arashi had asked of her and she wouldn't bring the subject up unless the younger girl asked her. That would be pretty easy but at the same time she wanted to protect the girl just like she protected her other little sister. That was how she had been raised by her parents and by Cesarina and that would be how she would continue to live. She was definitely too old at this point in time to let such a trivial thing bother her. In fact, when the young Vongola had been fighting the one mosca in particular she couldn't stop her over protection from making her go completely mental. She had been a big help in the later half of that fight when she had shown up. It wasn't that hard to notice the fight when people were just crowding about watching it and it had taken down a sky scraper.
It wasn't very hard to get Reiko to actually show up as it probably would have been if she hadn't gotten over her ill feelings. She was even allowed the freedom to show up on her own, which wouldn't really be a problem if she wasn't an idol. One of her subordinates hadn't allowed for her to in any number of her cars though because they would gather too much attention as they put it. Sometimes they really were no fun but she got over it even if she had a pout on her face her entire drive over there. She knew that Arashi had also been told to come to the meeting but at the entrance that she had picked to arrive at she didn't find him. That made her think that she was late or at least that he had shown up before her. That was the case by only a few minutes or so and he had also taken the entrance through Hibari-jiisan's place. She wouldn't know that now, of course, but not until much later when she would go visit said person.
The red head had easily been allowed inside but that was probably because one of the guards had called Kaya to be sure it was okay. The base seemed to be a lot more crowded and full of people than it used to be that meant that she was finally using it. It seemed to her when she arrived at the door that she had arrived not far behind Arashi and went in just as the door looked like it was shutting. She seemed to by pass Arashi and someone that he had brought with him but she wasn't really paying much mind at the moment. She didn't actually get to see Kaya properly after she woke up and before she got into the fight with the big mosca. The girl had gone through some changes while she was in her coma and as a result Reiko couldn't help but squeal a bit and cup the other girl's breasts.
"Aaah! Look Kaya-chan! You grew boobs~" Reiko said as she squeezed them a couple of times with a grin. "And you look so mature! Picture perfect boss~ Don'cha think, Ara-nii?"
If any of her subordinates where around she would probably have gotten scolded but she couldn't really help it. She let go of the short female and took a step back as she looked over to the Varia Captain. It was very long as she looked back at Kaya when she thought she had seen a bruise and as she got a closer look she was confirmed. It was obvious that the Vongola boss had been doing training that she shouldn't have been doing since she was still recovering. She had to know better than to be exerting too much effort into training right now but then she considered the girl's genes. That was something they had both no doubt inherited from their father especially since she used to get back up after training no matter what.
"Kaya-chan, you need to be careful! Too much training isn't good for you right now." Reiko said as she scolded the younger girl but there was still a smile on her face.
There was the matter of Arashi, however, as her attention was brought back to the male who was very much like a brother to her. She placed her eyes back on him from where he was sitting across from Kaya and her eyes fell upon the male beside him. There was something about him that screamed at her but she couldn't quite put her finger on it and his presence wasn't something she had been made aware of. This meeting was just supposed to be the three of them right? That's why she had been so informal in the first place but she wasn't really the type to be overly stiff unless she had to be. It was definitely something that needed to be discussed or at least she thought so.
"Ara-nii, who is this guy? Its just supposed to be us, right?" Reiko said as she folded her arms under her chest. "You're not supposed to break the rules, ne. That's not fair." She continued as she reached over after spotting the donuts and taking one to munch on. ♠ coded by heroin of gangnam style ♠

[attr="class","surprise"] SERENDIPITY As a young child visiting the zoo, Altair always wondered what it was like for the animals to sitting in their enclosures with nothing to do but be looked at by hundreds of people. It was a question that he never broached to his parents because he thought it was too silly to ask back then, because he thought that the grown-ups knew better. Never in his mind did he think that he would ever experience what they were experiencing. After all, he was a human and they were just animals. They were different on all levels, so that shouldn’t even be a consideration.
Years later, he couldn’t help but laugh to himself at the bitter irony. Now he was like all of those animals he’d watched in those zoos, only his cage was larger and grander and his visitors few and far in between. But a cage was still a cage, and unlike them he had gone in his cage of his own free will. So now he knew what it felt like to be those animals, and it sucked to the nine hells and back.
What sucked even worse was that he wasn’t even free to be himself in most of the manor he had been caged in. No, he wasn’t allowed to talk to the grunts for more than a few moments and the other members of the Varia for more than a few minutes at most. All he had to talk to was the man who had brought him here, and that got really old and irritating really fast. The worst part, though? He was forced to keep his contacts in whenever he was out of his room or the training room. He hated the stupid things and wanted them gone, but alas even in his cage he was forced to wear them for his safety.
Stupid Shimon Boss eyes being a dead giveaway to anyone with a brain cell in the mafia world. Why did they have to be so obvious, like something out of a manga? Even normal people know that red eyes with cross-shaped pupils weren’t normal in any part of the world, so even casual strolls without his contacts weren’t safe.
Well, what’s done is done. All he can really do was live with it now and deal with it day by day. Besides, as long as he focused on the fact that he had more time to prepare for his eventual epic revenge against Saverio, the Annullare, and everyone one else in cahoots with what had happened at the Shimon estate all those years ago, he could deal with it.
Still, that didn’t stop Altair from leaping at the opportunity to be able to get out of the manor ground and onto somewhere else- anywhere else, really- when Arashi offered it. In fact, he was so excited about finally being able to go somewhere else in Japan and that he almost didn’t ask why he was allowing him to go out for once.
Key word being almost.
The very instant he had heard exactly why he was going with Arashi though, he had almost dropped this golden opportunity of experiencing the civilized world for the first time in months because of sheer irritation. How the hell was he supposed to hide when this jerk off was making him introduce himself left and right to various people?! Isn’t it common logic to keep knowledge of his existence as well-guarded as possible?
But he was just so sick of being cooped up all the time with almost no one to talk to but himself -and that couldn’t be healthy; he didn’t want to turn as insane as his brother- and the chance to go outside was just too tempting to turn down. Besides, the fact that he didn’t have to wear those damned contacts and get to ride in one of those fancy sports cars were great bonuses, along with the fact that he got to help mess with two of the biggest names in the mafia world. Those were good consolation prizes even though he had some serious misgivings about the entire thing.
While Altair was essentially being led into an entire building filled with people who might or might not want his head on a pike for what his brother practically blind and underprepared, he couldn’t help but appreciate the fact that there seemed to be almost no guards in the area. Just some crazy old man who spend over five minutes trying to bite Arashi to death with his tonfas. He wasn’t sure how that logic worked but if it floats his boat then he didn’t really care. In fact, he would’ve been tempted to cheer him on if the old man hadn’t stated that he was next.
Once they were past that grab bag of crazed violence, it was pretty much smooth sailing into the boss-lady’s office. Sawada Kaya, if he remembered Arashi’s quick debriefing right. Well, Arashi was going to do the talking on this one anyway so he had time to confirm and deny the information in his head while he watched the first part of the floor show.
Once they were admitted in, Altair waited until Arashi took a seat before reluctantly taking a seat beside him, adjusting his mirrored shades as he did so. It was a bit to distinguish things with the shades dimming the light indoors, but he managed. Better than those contact lenses at any rate. Besides, he can’t really just go off without them because his eyes were still huge giveaways no matter how hard he tried.
Altair then kept quiet as he leaned into his chair and simply observed the two of them with a curious eye. It was weird to see Arashi as a caring human being to anyone other than Kuro –he’d thought it nigh impossible- but living proof was playing out right before his eyes. It was enough to prevent him from scowling when the other man spouted something some nonsense about tolerating him. He wasn’t annoying, thank you very much.
His day then took a turn for the stranger when a redhead walked into the room and started to squeeze the younger girl’s breasts. Altair’s eyebrows rose, though they went unseen as half of his face was hidden by his shades and his hat. What the hell? Okay, either the redhead was really eccentric or she was just some troll pervert. Jeez. At least this looked to become entertaining.
Then the redhead began to question why he was in the room while still kind of acting like a kid or a troll. He hadn’t determined which it was yet. Since the question was addressed to Arashi and not to himself, Altair simply smiled mysteriously and gave them both a little wave before continuing to watch them. He’ll let Arashi field this one. This was his idea after all… and it wouldn’t sound as convincing coming from him. Well, half of it anyway because he was somewhat sure that if he did the announcement himself then the both of them would attack him before he even finished.
I’m still not sure on whether to damn Saverio or thank him for making what’s going to happen harder and easier at the same time. Altair groused to himself while keeping the smile on his face.
